If you are here, chances are you are a little curious about who we are — and honestly, we would probably be doing the same thing. So welcome to our little corner of the internet, where we share our life, our projects, our lessons learned, and everything in between.
This blog was created as a creative outlet for us, but also as a place to connect with people who are navigating the same things we are. Life is full of decisions — some good, some not so great — whether it is buying a product everyone swore was amazing, starting a home project we thought would take one weekend, or realizing halfway through a remodel that our “style” changed completely. We have been there for all of it.
Over the years, we have made plenty of mistakes, spent money on things we probably should not have, redone projects more than once, and learned a lot through trial and error. And honestly, with the way the world is today and how expensive everything has become, we have reached a point where we truly want to make better choices the first time around. That is a big part of why this blog exists.
My name is Sarah, and I work full-time as a dental hygienist. Most people immediately ask how I can spend all day working in people’s mouths, but the truth is — I am a true Wisconsin girl at heart and I genuinely love talking to people. Over the years, my patients have become so much more than appointments on a schedule. After more than a decade in the same office, many of them feel like extended family. We celebrate life updates together, talk through hard days, swap stories, and even exchange ideas about home projects and products. Those conversations inspired me more than I probably realized at the time.
Writing this blog feels like an extension of those daily conversations — just in a different format.
Then there is Joe — technically my fiancé, but after being together for over 10 years, “husband” feels more accurate most days. He is truly my best friend and the person I want to come home to at the end of every day. Of course, like any couple, we can absolutely drive each other crazy. If you have ever worked on a home project with your significant other, then you already understand the occasional arguments over “why can’t you just read my mind?” But somehow, we always figure it out together.
Joe spent some time working in home remodeling, and that experience has helped us tremendously as we have transformed our house over the years. What started as a simple “let’s paint a few rooms and maybe replace the floors” quickly turned into remodeling nearly our entire home. And if we are being honest, some rooms have even been remodeled twice because our tastes changed along the way. Not my favorite realization at the time — but that is real life.
We have built our life together in Wisconsin, close to my family and surrounded by the place we call home. And despite living in Packers territory, Joe remains a loyal Minnesota Vikings fan through and through… although I still remind him regularly how that Super Bowl journey usually ends.
And of course, we cannot talk about our family without mentioning Xzena — our almost 12-year-old dog who completely runs this household. She is spoiled beyond belief, and honestly, we would not have it any other way. Before we leave for work every morning, she gets tucked into bed properly with a goodbye kiss like the little princess she is. She is the best cuddler on bad days, the best comfort after stressful ones, and somehow always knows exactly when one of us needs a little extra love.
As this blog grows, we will be sharing pieces of our everyday life — home projects, products we genuinely enjoy, lessons we learn the hard way, and ideas that might help make someone else’s life a little easier. We spend a lot of time researching before we buy or start anything because we know firsthand how frustrating it can be to waste money, time, and energy on things that do not work out. Everything we share here will be based on our real experiences — the good, the bad, and sometimes the ugly.
At the end of the day, this blog is not about perfection — it is about sharing our real life, our experiences, and the things we genuinely enjoy along the way. We hope this space feels relatable, helpful, and maybe even a little inspiring as we continue to navigate projects, everyday life, and all the chaos in between.
